EngageNet: Digital Signage System for Clinical Research Engagement

A digital signage system (i.e. an interactive touchscreen kiosk) will be set up in high-traffic locations like healthcare sites, barbershops, and salons to help recruit participants and clinicians for research. It will display information about studies, how to join, and the research process through interactive dashboards and graphics. The system will be managed by software that allows users to schedule when specific content shows up, including images, videos, and data. A working prototype has already been tested in one department, and plans are to expand it. These signage systems will be deployed to the clinics of the Howard University Faculty Practice Plan, Howard University Hospital, and Howard University College of Medicine. In addition, signage systems will be deployed to high-traffic and community gathering locations within the District of Columbia such as Churches, Barbershops, and Salons particularly those located in medically underserved communities.
